Parliamentary Conscience Votes Database

This is a database of conscience votes in the New Zealand Parliament past and present, where MPs do not vote on party lines. It contains all votes for the 2002-11 terms and important earlier votes, as well as all votes as they occur in the current term.

It is genuinely nonpartisan and has no agenda beyond encouraging participation in our democracy. It is not funded by, supported by, or involved with any political party or pressure group, unlike some other similar services.

The site was coded entirely by one individual, and the database originally populated by him using the vote tables from the Hansard and media reports. Some subsequent data has been tabulated by Idiot/Savant of No Right Turn using similarly sourced data.

If you have questions, or would like to obtain access to the raw data (which is also freely available from the Hansard), you can email

Execution time 0.037 seconds. This site is not affiliated with the New Zealand Parliament or any political party.
